NHS Tutoring Program Suffers Another Blow

Last year it was a space-needs problem, and this year it is a lack of "clients" that has the NHS tutoring program cutting back.  With the scarcity of space last year, tutors were asked to be creative in finding appropriate spots to tutor those classmates in need of academic help.  They use to have plenty of room in the upper L.M.C., but each year that space has been swallowed up by other programs.  Centrums were used last year, but now have become work stations for teachers who are

sharing their classrooms with new teachers.
The problem now is the fact that the majority of underclassmen do not have study halls.  Some NHS members are willing to stay after school to meet with those who need them, but with their busy schedules, some members cannot meet those requests.
We are asking that only those students who have study halls or are
genuinely willing to stay after school once a week on a regular basis be sent to NHS for tutoring.  The teacher

must submit names, subject areas and times of availability to Melissa Tardiff, our tutoring coordinator, guidance, or myself.   We will do our best to be sure that the students are matched with an NHS tutor.
