Students who have an overall average of 90% (or above) at the beginning of the 8th grade are invited to fill out a questionnaire, which is then submitted to a board. The board reviews the questionnaire packet and votes on the acceptance of each student to the NJHS. Once inducted into the NJHS, students are required to fulfill a certain number of community service hours per month. Members hold a "teacher dress-down day" each month and funds are donated to a charity. Members also sponsor "Teacher Appreciation Week".
