“ BMR High School Announces Student Recognition Program & Winners”

BLACKSTONE…BMR High School Principal Richard A. Porter announced the establishment of a student recognition program at the local high school entitled the “Student Random Act of Kindness Award” as well as the first recipients. “I realize that we frequently don’t, as a society, pause and help each other out as much as we should. There may be many reasons for this; one that comes to mind is the increased demands on our time. This award is my way of drawing attention, in a positive way, to those seemingly ‘little things’ that can really make an impact on someone’s day” said Porter.

“The Random Act of Kindness” program began in December and is now in its second month and has been well received” said Porter. “Like the saying goes ‘take care of the little things and the big things will take care of themselves,’ well the message of the program goes beyond that by having staff and students nominate members of the student body for recognition” he added.

The December award recipient was Tiffany Armas, a freshman and Blackstone resident. The January winners were Tricia Breault, a senior, Richard Lebrun, a junior both from Millville, and Gabriel Zecher a junior from Blackstone. Recipients, chosen on a monthly basis during the academic year receive a certificate from Porter and a gift card to a local business.

Blackstone-Millville Regional High School was established in 1970. It consists of students from the towns of Blackstone and Millville, is located at 175 Lincoln Street in Blackstone, Massachusetts and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges.
