BMR HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES
MARCH STUDENT & TEACHER OF THE MONTH

BLACKSTONE….Carly Hanson, a junior, has been named “student of the month” for March and George Zisiades; a 34 year veteran math teacher has been selected “teacher of the month” for the same period according to a news release issued by Richard A. Porter, BMR principal.

“Carly is a genuinely upbeat person. No matter whom you are: faculty, staff or student Carly is sure to greet you with a smile and warm hello. That natural friendliness and sincerity has made her friends throughout the student body” said Porter. “She is always positive and appreciative of the most minor act of consideration towards her” Porter added.

Zisiades, who was nominated for the recognition by his peers, will be retiring at the end of the current academic year. “Mr. Zisiades is a hardworking staff member whose contributions to maintaining and improving the academic standards of BMR are appreciated” said Porter. “He is very deserving of this honor and will be missed” Porter added.

Hanson is a resident of Blackstone and is the daughter of Bonnie and Robert Hanson. Her interests include animals and reading, which she hopes to apply to pre-veterinary studies after high school.

Zisiades, a resident of Putnam, Connecticut was first appointed to the faculty of BMRHS in September, 1973. A native of Greece, Zisiades was raised in Providence and is a former resident of North Smithfield. His interests include kayaking and bicycling.

Blackstone-Millville Regional High School was established in 1970. It consists of students from the towns of Blackstone and Millville, is located at 175 Lincoln Street in Blackstone, Massachusetts and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges.
