BMR Announces February Random Act of Kindness
Award Recipient

BLACKSTONE…Jessica Wye, a freshman at Blackstone-Millville Regional High School was selected as the February recipient of the school’s “Random Act of Kindness Award” according to Richard A. Porter, school principal.

“Jessica is being recognized for having read and rewritten her class notes for a fellow student who had fallen behind. She did this without having been told to do so” said Porter. “At BMR we are continuing to recognize the seemingly everyday acts of kindness that are unfortunately less and less commonplace in society” said Porter who instituted the program in December 2006.

The Random Act of Kindness Program seeks to recognize essential acts of kindness performed without fanfare or attention. On a monthly basis a student or students are recognized with a certificate and giftcard to a local business by the principal.

Blackstone-Millville Regional High School was established in 1970. It consists of students from the towns of Blackstone and Millville and is located at 175 Lincoln Street in Blackstone, Massachusetts and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges.
