The District School Committee and the Middle School Building Committee are continuing to work at securing a location for a proposed middle school. To date both committees have considered the purchase of a large parcel of land across from the present High/middle School. In addition, the committees are exploring the possibility of purchasing the Federal Street property owned by the Town of Blackstone. The present location of the High/middle School is still also under consideration for the middle school.

As yet, no decision has been made regarding the location of a proposed middle school. The District School Committee hopes to have a decision regarding a site no later than December 1st.
If a site other than the present site of the High/middle School were to be selected, the purchase will need to be completed after approval from both towns.

The construction plans (if approved by both towns), should be ready for submission to the Massachusetts Department of Education by the summer of 2000.
