What is FBLA?

Future Business Leaders of America is a non-profit education association made up of students pursuing careers in business or business education. It is also for those students who just want to learn about business and free-enterprise.


What are FBLA's goals for our students?

FBLA isn't just another student group; it gives students the competitive edge through career exploration, self-improvement and community service opportunities. As a chapter, we can provide our students with an opportunity to develop leadership skills through many activities and conferences. Our mission will be to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through:

  • Innovative leadership and career development programs.
  • Assisting students in learning about employment opportunities.
  • Developing job application and interviewing skills.
  • Developing attitudes about civic and social responsibilities.
  • Developing other traits necessary to succeed as an employee and a consumer.
  • Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work.

Involvement will help our students realize their potential and inspire them to investigate business careers. Also, through FBLA's high-profile corporate partners and the organization's competitive events, our students will have the opportunity to gain community, state and national recognition.


What benefits does FBLA offer to our students?

The National Awards Program which recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career related areas. Events are based on projects derived from FBLA goals and business education program curricula. Participation in the National Awards Program:

  • Reinforces classroom instruction.
  • Relates skills and lessons learned to real-world situations.
  • Trains and prepares students for future roles in the American enterprise system.
  • Provides students with practical experience in goal setting, planning, and plan implementation.
  • Enhances school curricula.

FBLA offers the Massachusetts State Spring FBLA Convention held yearly in Framingham which gives students the opportunity to attend leadership workshops, job fairs as well as compete in various individual, team and chapter events. Said events include:

One particular publication entitled Tomorrow's Business Leader is sent to
members approximately three times per year. Said publication features interviews with business leaders and articles on leadership, career options, post secondary education alternatives, job building skills, FBLA programs and services as well as local chapter news.


What can an FBLA member do for our Community?

FBLA is involved in various charitable organizations such as March of Dimes, Tourette Syndrome and National Literacy Project. Being involved in any one of these projects will not only help to raise money for a worthy cause but will also help our students to learn the ins and outs of fundraising, build self-confidence and achieve happiness by giving back to the community.


Ideas for our FBLA chapter:

  • Incorporating classroom learning with real enterprising situations.
  • Creation of a school store offering a variety of goods and services.
  • Preparation for State/National Competitions regarding various skills learned.
  • Monthly meetings addressing all FBLA concerns, ideas, wants, etc.
  • All members need to be enrolled in a Business course.
