United States History II (1865 – 1992) Level 1.0

Prerequisite: U.S. History I

This course provides a basic chronological approach to the study of American History. United States History II is a course designed to introduce the student to the forces, events, and people that have shaped and altered American society and our relations with nations large and small in our ever shrinking world. United States history from the Civil War to the present, combined with an analysis of the Constitution and constitutional issues, is the core of this course. The emphasis is on the United States as an industrial nation. Constitutional and legal issues are developed as well as issues of international involvement. Class participation and skill development are emphasized.
