Advanced English 10 Course Description:
Students electing this 1.1 course will complete the work of the 1.0 class and must expect a demanding reading schedule in addition to the class text. This is a college-prep course and writing, reading, and research will be focused at that level. Students must complete the summer reading and writing requirements for this course. Sophomores completing this course should show competency in:
Academic and creative writing Interpreting literature Applying grammar skills to writing Research Skills Speaking Skills Responding to open response questions Writing several forms of the essay MCAS Skills
