Tableaux are “living pictures.” The players recreate a moment in a novel or play, and while on stage, remain silent and motionless. My sophomores created tableaux during their study of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter. Some of the more notable moments from the novel are recreated here.
