Following the directions from our text (pages 55-65) and the added requirements below, compose a Journalistic Narrative on a topic of your choice.

Requirements and reminders:

• Have your topic approved by me
• Find a “journalistic narrative” type article in the newspaper (to share with the class
• Tell a story (not just a list of “snapshots”); must have a point…
• Stay in the present tense ; re-read the professional model in the text
• Use third person narration; you should not be a “character” in the essay
• “Frame” your essay
• Leave out all opinions/judgments
• Be aware of the 1 ½ - 2 pages length requirement
• Include a literary device or two somewhere in your essay (unlabeled)
• Include a “catchy” title
• Use MLA style format for pagination and heading
• Pass your essay in with final copy on top of peer-editing sheet, rough draft(s) marked up by editor, pre-writing notes.
• TAKE THE PEER-EDITING PROCESS SERIOUSLY!

8. HAVE I STAYED IN THE PRESENT TENSE AND THIRD PERSON NARRATION??? If not, please show me so Mr. Campo does not give me an F !
