Description
This course
is an exploratory basic program with academic component. It will prepare you
for all other courses offered at BMR. It will also serve you well when you need
to take a Fine Arts course at the college level. Students in this 1.1 level
course will learn to:
- Utilize the Art Elements
and Design Principles as applied in the creation of art.
- Gain information from
works of art: Art Criticism.
- Gain information about
works of art: Art History.
- Conceptualize, plan
and carry out an original project.
- Explore two dimensional
design principles as applied to college.
- Develop observational
skills from still life drawing.
- Use the basic tools,
materials, techniques, and skills relative to the assignments.
- Develop the patience,
discipline and stamina required for consistant work habits and routines.
- Develop an appreciation
for the arts through research of artists and art movements
- Apply basic color theory
to a Post-Impressionist painting.
- Create a large scale
Pop-Art Comic Painting.
- Construct a slab and/or
coil vessel.
