A message from Blackstone Police Chief Greg Gilmore:
Please be advised that I think it is important to reiterate the rules for gatherings along the parade route. I am concerned that people will be gathering along Main Street, and other areas, and not following social distancing and crowd gathering requirements.
Most concerning is the area on Main Street near Goodstuff and Richdale. We cannot allow gatherings at these locations if they are not properly separated. With this in mind, I anticipate sending officers to these areas just before the parade begins to monitor the areas. Please be aware that if crowds are discovered that are not following the proper rules, they will be dispersed. If we are unable to successfully gain the crowd's compliance we will be forced to cancel the parade.
We are looking forward to assisting with this great event and hope everyone complies with the necessary requirements. Any questions please reach out to me right away.
