UPDATED CLASS OF 2021 NEWS:
Dear Parents, Guardians, and the Class of 2021,
The 2020-2021 school year has been filled with unique challenges for all of us. However, we will continue to move forward and see how the impact of COVID vaccines will allow us to plan for end-of-year events with our school community. Specifically, the Class of 2021 will be celebrating THEIR YEAR with some memorable events. I would like to share with you our UPDATED PLANS as we work to navigate the evolving information and guidance from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Public Health officials.
Senior Portraits on Campus - The Week of May 17th
BMR is thrilled to celebrate the CLASS OF 2021 with individual Senior Portrait Banners. Each member of the senior class will have their banner showcased on campus. After graduation, students are free to take their banners home for display! Thank you to our senior parents for helping us put up these banners!
Senior Last Day of School - May 27th
The senior academic school year ends on May 27th. Seniors will say goodbye to their teachers, staff members and peers. In order to participate in the Senior Formal Banquet, Seniors will need to be in the building on the 27th. Caps and Gowns will be distributed during all 4 lunches to seniors so they can have time to decorate their caps.
Senior Formal Banquet - May 27th (6:45pm)
Our Banquet is scheduled for May 27th, and we have reserved Pleasant Valley Country Club as our venue. This will be a senior-only event. The evening event will include a dinner, yearbook distribution, and viewing of the senior slideshow. Formal attire is recommended. Due to current restrictions, students will not be able to utilize the dance floor.
Senior Awards Night - June 3rd (6:30pm)
We will host our first ever outdoor Senior Awards Night. Academic awards and community scholarships will be announced. At the conclusion of awards night, a virtual link will be provided to students and families with personalized award messages from faculty and staff. Due to social distancing guidelines, our senior class will be separated throughout the main entrance lot of our high school, allowing a limited number of (6) family members to be distanced in the grassy area adjacent to the parking lot.
Rehearsal (8:00am) and Senior District Walk (9:15am) - June 3rd
Students who have met all of their graduation requirements will receive their graduation tickets. Graduation tickets will also be distributed based on requests and required registration of guests. After senior rehearsal, students will be transported by bus in their caps and gowns and continue the tradition of the “Senior Walk”. Students will visit their former schools and teachers for a final farewell. Students are to bring their caps and gowns to Thursday morning's rehearsal.
Rehearsal and Senior Breakfast - June 4th (8:00am)
Prior to rehearsal, Seniors are invited to a Senior Breakfast in the cafeteria. The BMRSD School Committee will treat all students with a delicious platter of breakfast items. Following breakfast, we will hold a final graduation rehearsal.
Graduation - June 4th (6:00pm) Rain Date: June 5th (10:00am)
We have finalized plans to host the 51st Commencement Exercises outdoors on campus. Due to social distancing guidelines, our senior class will be separated throughout the main entrance lot of our high school, allowing a limited number of (6) family members to be distanced in the grassy area adjacent to the parking lot. We will follow up with more details in terms of logistics, family pod selections and campus restrictions.
Senior Send-Off - June 8th (6:00pm)
We would like to invite our seniors to an informal award’s night celebration and dinner in our courtyard. We will have music and food/beverage for this event. Seniors will be able to spend one last time together as a class receiving their awards and scholarships.
The Class of 2021 will embrace and celebrate “THEIR YEAR.” Senior class events and our graduation ceremony provide us with an opportunity to recognize the memories, accomplishments and post-secondary plans of our talented students. We remain focused to do our part in making certain that we celebrate our students safely and adjust accordingly.
We will continue to communicate and share information as it develops. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate our end-of-year celebration events.
A special thank you to our senior parents for their creativity and thoughtfulness in celebrating our seniors!
