Dear Parents and Families of Millville Elementary School,
It is with great honor and excitement that I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, Christina Shafer, as the new principal of Millville Elementary School (MES). Over the past 16 years, I have served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles at MES. Some of the roles that I have held include classroom teacher, substitute principal, interim principal, data team leader, and Google Leader to name a few. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Education in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration.
I am very passionate about education and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging and high-quality elementary school experience. Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am excited to see your children through your eyes. I cannot wait to share with you the great things they do throughout their days here at MES. I will also be here to work with you should they need any help navigating any aspect of the school day.
My main objective is to support students, teachers and parents to ensure student success and academic confidence that will benefit them throughout their entire educational process. All students can learn, given a positive learning environment that welcomes exploration and enhances student confidence. It is my belief that our mission is to make school enjoyable and exciting. If students look forward to coming to school, they will want to learn. Our students deserve nothing but the absolute best that we have to offer.
I will be working this summer to ensure for a smooth transition and opening in August. I will also be hosting a crafting event on Wednesday, August 15th for students will last names from A- L from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Students with last names M-Z from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Please bring your child in to the MES Cafeteria to meet me and create a fun craft together in the process. In addition, I will be holding a Meet and Greet session prior to the first Millville Elementary School Parents’ Association (MESPA) Meeting. Look for the date and time on Facebook, Twitter, and the MES website
Lastly, please remember to send along pictures of your child reading over the course of the summer to firstname.lastname@example.org. I am looking forward to seeing all of the different places that your children have read over the summer and hanging them up so that the others members of our school can see all of the fantastic reading that has happened over the summer.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role. I look forward to getting to further know you and your children and have a great year ahead. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas that you would like to share. You can email me directly at email@example.com.
